The Victoria State Department of Health, South Australia, reported 282 new cases of COVID-19 this Monday, as well as a record 25 deaths from the disease in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 421 deaths.
The state of Victoria is the epicenter of the pandemic in the country. Not only has it confirmed all recent positive results, but three out of four deaths from COVID-19 in Australia have occurred in the area.
Even so, the number of infections registered in Victoria continues to decline after state authorities ordered the restriction of the capital Melbourne, subject to a night curfew and significant departures of only one member of the family core, with the mandatory use of the mask.
To date, Australia has recorded nearly 23,600 cases, of which more than 17,000 are in the state of Victoria, an area that has added 334 of the 421 deaths across the country.
