Two children have died and another eight people have been injured, one of them a police officer, as a result of two consecutive explosions registered near a hospital in Balj province, in northern Afghanistan, police reported to the television network Tolo.
The two explosions have been recorded consecutively this Tuesday morning in the vicinity of a hospital in the town of Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of the province of Balj, according to local authorities.
The first deflagration took place at around 8.30 am and the next one was registered shortly after near the regional hospital of Mazar-e-Sharif, as explained by Adel Shá Adel, spokesman for the regional government.
“Two children, one of fourteen and the other of ten, have died in the explosions and eight others, including a police officer, have been injured,” said Adel. The regional government spokesman has said that there is an open investigation to clarify what happened. No armed group has claimed these actions for the moment.
