At least ten Taliban militiamen have died and five others were injured in a bomb attack by the Afghan air force on a rebel position in Kunduz province in the north of the country.
“The clashes in the city of Jan Abad have been going on for days,” said the deputy district manager Qudratulá Safi. The militiamen blocked a main road between Kunduz and neighboring Tajar province for 12 days, the official added.
These clashes escalated when “a group of insurgents carried out security checks in the city of Dowkan e Adam Jan on Saturday”.
At the time, the air force carried out the bombing this Sunday morning, according to statements made by the Xinhua official Chinese news agency.
