At least six people were injured in a bomb explosion on a bus in the Philippines

At least six people, including three children, were injured in a bomb explosion on a bus in the city of San Mateo, southern Philippines on Tuesday.

One of the passengers told the Inquirer newspaper that the explosion was so strong that the vehicle almost overturned. “All the windows were broken,” he said.

Colonel Henry Villar has indicated that an investigation is underway following the incident on the bus going to Cotabato. The occupants stated that the alleged bomb, apparently an improvised explosive device, was in the rear of the vehicle.

Four of the injured were admitted to various hospitals in Cotabato province, although no one claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred two days after police deployed large numbers of troops on the post.
