One member of the Islamic State jihadist organization was killed and another, identified as the group’s local leader, was arrested after a long struggle between militiamen and security forces in the Puntland region of Somalia, which was described as autonomous.
The confrontation took place in the last few hours in the village of Bosaso in the Bari region. This comes from a statement by the Puntland Police, which was collected from the Goobjoog portal.
“A member of the Islamic State died during the security operation that arrested a local head of the organization responsible for the murders and bombings in Bari,” the release said.
Similarly, the security forces have seized a vehicle loaded with weapons and explosives by the insurgents to kill civilian targets in the region.
