At least one person has died and 17 others were injured after an explosion in a restaurant in Koriyama, Fukushima, Japan.
The explosion occurred around 9:00 a.m. (local time) in an urban area with houses and restaurants. The first hypotheses suggest that the police and the fire department said it was caused by a gas leak, the Japanese news agency Kiodo News reported.
The restaurant in question was under construction and should reopen this Friday. Two employees of a nearby bank and two customers who were there at the time are among the injured.
