At least four Colombian army soldiers have died and another was wounded after being attacked to eradicate illegal crops in the municipality of Sardinata, Norte de Santander department.
According to preliminary investigations, the victims would be three soldiers and one non-commissioned officer, reports the Colombian newspaper ‘El Tiempo’.
“We reject the acts of violence in the municipality of Sardinata that ended the lives of these heroes of the country,” said the governor of Norte de Santander, Silvano Serrano Guerrero, on social networks.
“We urge the authorities to find those responsible and bring them to justice. Solidarity with their families and friends,” he added.
