At least five people died when a cargo plane crashed in South Kivu Province, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Local government sources have informed Radio Okapi.
The deceased are two crew members and three passengers, all people who were on board the device, as reported by Provincial Minister of Transport and Communications, Claude Swedi Basila.
The accident occurred late Thursday, when the aircraft operated by the Airline Agefreco flew from Kalima city to Bukavu.
The governor of South Kivu Province, of which Bukavu is a part, Theo Kasi has announced that an investigation will be launched to clarify the causes of the incident.
