At least five people have been killed and more than a dozen others have been wounded in various attacks in Afghanistan in recent hours and linked to the Taliban uprising, despite attempts to end the country’s last twenty years of war.

First, two security forces were killed in the attack on a passenger bus in Kunduz province in northern Afghanistan. Two other members of the Afghan security forces died in another attack in Faryab province, also in the north, and three were wounded.

In Nangarhar province, in the east of the country, a roadside bomb blast killed at least one civilian and injured three, while a dozen passengers on another bus were cross-wounded in a crossfire battle between Taliban and Kabul government forces in Logar province.
