At least eight dead and seven injured when a minibus fell into a canal in Egypt

At least eight people have died and seven were injured when a minibus crashed into a canal in the city of Giza, near Cairo, according to security sources.

Initial investigations have shown that the driver lost control of the vehicle’s steering wheel before it capsized over the Al Mariotia Canal in Giza.

Survivors attributed the accident to the high speed at which the vehicle was traveling, according to the Al Watan newspaper.
