According to human rights activists, at least 49 people were arrested this Saturday during a new women’s demonstration to protest against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk.
The Viasna Human Rights Center posted the names of 49 women arrested on its website spring96.org. Around 300 people were arrested at the demonstration last Saturday.
Hundreds of women demonstrated on another Saturday against Lukashenko and allegedly fraudulent in the presidential election on August 9, in which Lukashenko was re-elected for a new term.
