At least 13 senators from Colombia tested positive for the new coronavirus following the face-to-face meeting held last week to elect the new attorney general and one of the constitutional judges.
In addition to those thirteen MPs, the Senate issued a statement informing them that five more are waiting to receive their tests, so the total could increase.
So far, the vast majority of meetings have been conducted electronically due to the health crisis caused by the pandemic, which accumulated 641,574 cases and 20,618 deaths.
The Ministry of Health registered 8,235 new infections and 270 deaths this Thursday, while the number of people recovered is already 489,151. On the other hand, 130,471 cases are still active.
In its last part, another day, the ministry pondered how the vast majority of diagnosed cases correspond to the city of Bogotá, which has a total of 219,585 with the last 2,931 positive results.
