Argentine health officials have reported 5,352 new coronavirus infections, bringing the tentative balance of COVID-19 cases to 342,154, the twelfth highest in the world and sixth in the Latin America region.
The Ministry of Health has estimated that 6,985 people who are victims of the pandemic in Argentina have lost their lives, 137 more than the previous day. Additionally, 1,922 people remain in the intensive care unit, with occupancy in the greater Buenos Aires area, the main epicenter of the virus, above 64 percent.
Health Accessibility Person Carla Vizzotti has nonetheless warned that community transmission continues in many areas and “continues to arise where there was none before” for which she has called, the tension of concern of not losing care, “according to the Télam news agency.
The pandemic in Argentina has become a matter of political debate, partly because of the quarantine measures to contain the spread of the virus, some of which will still be in force once the country reaches unprecedented levels of contagion.
