The Argentine Ministry of Health reported this Wednesday that the country has already recorded more than 2,000 deaths from COVID-19. That number has more than 82 deaths and the newly confirmed cases have registered 4,000 in the last 24 hours.
After the 82 new deaths, Argentina has reached 2,050 deaths from COVID-19. In addition, the Argentine health authorities increased the balance of positive results to 111,160 after another 4,250 were confirmed.
According to the balance collected by the country’s news agency, Télam, 93 percent of new infections (3,954) correspond to the city and province of Buenos Aires, which were forced to tighten the quarantine given the numbers.
In this context, Argentine President Alberto Fernández met with Buenos Aires Prime Minister Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof to define how isolation in the region will continue after Friday the phase in which the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Region (AMBA) is located, effective July 1.
