The new coronavirus pandemic, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has left more than 10,000 new cases and 262 deaths in Argentina in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.
With the 10,684 new infections and 262 deaths in the last 24 hours, the balance rises to 461,882 infected and 9,623 deaths. According to the Télam news agency, national and regional authorities have stressed the need to step up precautionary measures to prevent further increases in cases across the country.
Of the total number of new cases, 5,682 cases were registered in the province of Buenos Aires and 1,278 positive cases were registered in the city itself.
The Argentine Minister of Health Ginés González García has stressed the importance of protecting citizens in order not to be infected. “Until we have the vaccine, we have an obligation to take care of ourselves. I see the exemplary behavior of the Argentines loosening up,” he said.
