A former FARC guerrilla has been murdered in a rural area of the Meta department in central Colombia in the context of the wave of violence from which the country is suffering.

The victim is Fredy Fajardo, 32, a former fighter on the 40th front of the FARC who, according to Blu Radio, had completed his reintegration process in the Mariana Páez camp.

“Apparently he was killed by a group (armed men) who came to his house – they say they came in uniform – the motives are still unknown,” said the mayor of the Uribe parish where the events took place.

According to the Colombian radio station, one of the hypotheses the authorities are dealing with when investigating this crime is that it was murdered by FARC dissidents, guerrillas who have not accepted the peace agreement.
