The interim president of Bolivia, Jeanine Áñez, has called on Saturday for the “solidarity” of the citizens to face the pandemic of the coronavirus in the country and the development of infections.
“This is a moment when we need to demonstrate solidarity and generosity to others. We cannot face a pandemic and an economic crisis like the one we are experiencing without supporting it,” said the President during her visit to a social Center.
With the pandemic progressing in the country, Marcelo Ríos, director of the Santa Cruz Health Service – the most coronavirus-affected area in the country – has claimed that the ministry cannot be reached. An increase in infections as only one percent of the population is infected is.
“The number of people who died shows us that the contagion situation is high because it has not decreased,” he said, adding that possible outbreaks are not out of the question, according to the local newspaper ‘El Duty’.
