Airbnb Mexico announced that as of this week it limited its calendar on the platform in accordance with the Federal Agreement and the Protocol of care for people in accommodation centers during the quarantine by the Secretaries of Tourism and Health to only offer accommodation to doctors, nurses and staff who contribute to the fight against COVID-19 .
Through the “Emergency Personnel Accommodation” program, the accommodation platform will limit new reservations exclusively to medical personnel who support efforts against the new coronavirus until April 30 in accordance with the guidelines and recommendations of the federal government and the Union. of Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico (ASETUR).
The accommodations that participate in this program must meet the security requirements and cleaning protocol. In addition, they must accept a series of security requirements, including improved cleaning, social distancing with their guests and allow 72 hours between stays. Airbnb hosts must ensure that stays are offered to COVID-19 related workers and are familiar with security protocols.
“We are going through an unprecedented health crisis, at the moment it is preponderant that we all join efforts so that Mexico can get out of this emergency as soon as possible,” said Ángel Terral, director of Airbnb for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean through a statement.
