The Chinese Ministry of Health said on Wednesday that the increase in infections that has occurred in the wholesale market of the southwest Fengtai district in Beijing is under control after the recent cases in the capital are not directly related to this focus.

Ministry of Health Deputy Director Feng Zijian said, “The new cases are mainly due to the proliferation of those who have been exposed to the market in one way or another.”

“The level of transmission is very low,” said Feng, who said that the cases of those directly exposed to the Xinfadi market are “coming to an end.”
