The College of Physicians of Guayas Province, western Ecuador announced this Tuesday that it would file a lawsuit against the state over the deaths of health professionals who died during the health crisis for failing to provide materials from Security needed to deal with the pandemic.

Its President Wilson Tenorio has stated that the aim of this lawsuit is to do justice to the more than 100 colleagues who lost their lives between March and April, the most critical phase of the health emergency in Ecuador.

“More than a hundred doctors, more than 55 midwives, more than twenty nurses and clinical laboratory professionals have died on duty,” Tenorio said.
