In the first four days of July, a total of 75 people were killed in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, including the 27 young people who died in the attack on a detoxification center in Irapuato, and ten police officers, six states and four local officials.
The number was reached after the death of four people was confirmed in two attacks registered in a mechanical workshop and in a house in the Emeteria Valencia and Villas del Romeral districts in the city of Celaya.
The Celaya Secretariat for Citizens’ Security reported that rescue workers were involved in an allegedly caused fire in a motorcycle workshop in the Valencia Emeteria. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters and civil defense personnel found two dead inside.
Regarding the second event, 911 received a call for firing at a house in Villas del Romeral, as reported by the newspaper ‘El Universal’. On arrival, the authorities found two men dead.
Armed violence is one of the main problems in Mexico, whose geographic location on the border with the United States makes it a mandatory stop for drug, arms and human trafficking.
