The Swedish police announced on Saturday the arrest of a taxi driver on suspicion of attempted murder by wounding four passersby with the vehicle he hit last night in Borlange, a city northwest of Stockholm.
The cause and possible motive for the incident are being investigated, but the police have already ruled out that it was an act of terrorism.
Three of the wounded, two men and a young woman, were hospitalized after the incident, none seriously.
Witnesses to the incident managed to arrest the taxi driver, a man in his thirties, before the police arrived at the scene, the security forces reported to the Swedish network SVT.
According to the police, agents have confiscated the vehicle as part of the investigation.
