A student has opened fire on Thursday at the campus of a vocational training center in Siberia, in the eastern tip of Russia, killing another student before taking his own life when police officers have cornered him, local newspaper reported. The Moscow Times'.
The shooting has taken place in a vocational training center in the town of Blagoveschensk, in the Siberian region of Amur, when a 19-year-old young man, construction and public infrastructure students has started shooting inside the educational center.
The young man has killed another 19-year-old student and has injured three other students, according to the researchers. The three injured have been taken to a hospital. One of them is in serious condition and has undergone a surgical operation, according to the Russian news agency Sputnik.
Police have indicated that the agents who have come to the scene have shot at the suspect after he shot them with his gun from the second floor of the vocational training center.
The police have managed to corner the author of the shooting in a classroom and have proceeded to evacuate students and teachers from the rest of the building. After shooting the agents again, the young man has taken his own life with a shot, according to the Russian Research Committee.
Witnesses to the events have told the Russian press that the author of the shooting has gone to class and has asked permission to go to the bathroom, at which time he has taken the opportunity to arm himself with a rifle and has started shooting.
Several Russian media have identified the author of the shooting as Danil Zasorin and have indicated that his parents have said that the young man was saving to buy a rifle and that he had it stored in a safe.
