At least one soldier was injured on Wednesday evening in an attack on a military base in the municipality of Tibú in northern Colombia near the Venezuelan border.
The attack occurred around 8:15 p.m. local time when multiple explosions occurred in the National Army’s 30th Battalion at the Vulcano Task Force military base.
According to Blu Radio, a group of men in a truck approached the military facilities and threw several explosives that fell into the grounds. The Colombian newspaper ‘El Espectador’ hit the NCO casino, the parade ground and the accommodation center for soldiers. There was shooting after the explosions.
Sources consulted by the local media currently speak of a wounded soldier and extensive material damage.
