Around 250 people, including relatives of the victims, gathered today in the German city of Hanau to remember the nine victims of the racist attack perpetrated by a 43-year-old German in February.
Under the motto “We demand: Remembrance, Justice, Clarity, Consequences”, printed on posters of the demonstrators who have gathered in the center of the city in the state of Hesse.
The event passed off peacefully and protesters were reminded at all times to comply with safety regulations to prevent the increase in coronavirus infections.
Initially, the demonstration should be much larger and thousands of people from all over the country should join. However, due to the surge in coronavirus cases, it had to be canceled.
