The governor of the Russian Khabarovsk region, Sergei Furgal, was arrested on suspicion of having organized the murders of several business people, according to the spokeswoman for the Russian investigative committee, Svetlana Petrenko.
“Taking into account the evidence gathered, specialists from the investigative committee and employees of the Federal Security Service arrested the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal, who, according to the investigation, is the organizer of the attack, killing several businessmen,” said Petrenko.
According to the investigative committee, Furgal, whose indictment against him is still unknown, was arrested as part of an investigation into an organized crime group involved in crimes against the life and health of several business people that were committed in 2004 and 2004 in the regions in 2005 Khabarovsk and Amur.
In addition to Furgal, who was sent to Moscow, according to the Sputnik news agency, four active members of the above-mentioned criminal organization were previously arrested and detained, and charges have already been brought.
Investigators are now proceeding with the process of collecting and consolidating evidence against members of the criminal group in the acts under their jurisdiction, and to review their involvement in other crimes.
