A Mexican photojournalist was shot dead Tuesday in the city of Uruapan in Michoacan (center), the prosecution confirmed on Wednesday in a statement announcing the initiation of an investigation into the incident. .
The journalist, identified by the Mexican media as Luis Eduardo Ochoa, was shot dead in Los Aguacates while dating his cousin after they bought groceries. He has said that both of them “were intercepted by some people who threatened them with firearms and robbed them of their belongings”.
It was detailed that Ochoa, who was also a professor at a private institution, “was taken to an amusement park, where he was shot injured and caused his death,” after which the suspects fled.
Prosecutors have said that the authorities are conducting an investigation “to clarify the facts and determine whether there is any connection to the work the victim did in various media outlets up until a few months ago”.
