A new restriction has been imposed in Rwanda due to the increase in coronavirus cases in two areas of the southwest

The Rwandan government has imposed a new prison sentence in two areas in the south-west of the country, including an area where there is a Congolese refugee camp, as coronavirus cases are increasing.

The Home Office has detailed that the measure affecting Nyamagabe and Nyamasheke counties will be effective for at least 15 days due to the increase in infections, as reported by the Rwandan news portal Kigali Today.

The Rwandan authorities last week extended detention in various areas of the capital Kigali and launched a campaign of randomized coronavirus testing in the city earlier this month.
