Police spokesman Paul Nyathi has confirmed the arrest of journalist Hopwewll Chinono and activist Jacob Ngarivhume before adding that they are suspected of “inciting public violence,” reports Zimbabwean newspaper “The Herald”. ‘.
Chinono disclosed in its information a suspected fraud regarding an additional cost medical device supply agreement during the coronavirus pandemic, an article that resulted in Moyo being suspended for “inappropriate behavior.”
Moyo was arrested in the capital city of Harare on June 19 and released after appearing in court on bail of $ 50,000. He was finally released on July 8 by the country’s president, Emmerson Mnangagwa.
