A group of pirates kidnapped five crew members from a fishing boat near the coast of Ghana on Thursday, according to the maritime security company Dryad Global.
In its Twitter account, the company said that five crew members, including a Russian citizen, were kidnapped. As stated, the crew included people from China, South Korea and Russia.
The incident would have occurred around 7:30 p.m. approximately 100 nautical miles (about 100 kilometers) south of the city of Tema. Pirate attacks are common in the Gulf of Guinea, a region considered dangerous to seafarers and fishermen.
