A dead and two wounded in a shootout to protest George Floyd’s death in Indianapolis

At least one person has died and two others were injured in a shootout that was caused by the death of black citizen George Floyd during the protests in Indianapolis, Indiana, police confirmed this Sunday.

The incident occurred near the epicenter of the protests, Monument Circle, city police chief Randal Taylor reported at a press conference.

His deputy, Josh Barker, has confirmed an ongoing investigation and the possible connection between the shooting and the protests, although the latter aspect has not yet been verified. Barker has also confirmed several firearm incidents in the city.

Indianapolis police have confirmed on their Twitter account that none of these incidents are related to their agents.
