6 steps to test how far you can really go
6 steps to test how far you can really go

Twenty, thirty or forty years ago when you were a kid or a teenager, someone asked you what you would like to be when you grow up? And you replied: astronaut, soccer player or film actor.

Time passed and life happened. You made decisions that gave you stability. You have finally become what you are today. But your inner child continues to dream and scream: It wants to go out, explore and reach all the peaks of the world. The child … is also scared.

We are in a difficult moment. There is no doubt. And in the times to come we don’t know what they will bring. It’s a bad time to make decisions, isn’t it?

Not correct.

This moment It is the best time to make a decision that has the potential to change your life. Are there no more in life? Isn’t there something you want to achieve, something you have dreamed of, something that won’t let you sleep? Do you just sit back and wait for what’s next or do you attack the goals you have for yourself?

It can be a business, a company, writing a book, going on a trip, or developing a new skill. Nothing is worse than reaching death without at least trying! Take a deep breath, we will walk through a thick forest. After this forest: the place where you want to be. Ready?

1. Comfort zone – the illusion of security

Let’s start where you are today. In your place, your work, your current environment. It wasn’t easy to get there, but there you are. And in the midst of a global crisis, stick to what you know, what you know, and play it safe. You have turned off the “dream” button. But it’s time to turn it on again.

Humans are living organisms and like everyone else we die if we don’t grow. It grows! It starts by sending the voices telling you, “You don’t know, you can’t, you’re not good, don’t even try, you’ve come as far as you can.” These voices have been carried away for decades, perhaps since your childhood. It’s time to say goodbye to them and start walking.

But where? I am not asking you to leave your job, business, or country. I ask you to enter the forest of the unknown. Welcome to the learning zone.

2. Learning Zone – Low Risk Screening

This is not the time (yet) to jump without a parachute or try crazy things. It’s time to Leave your hiding placeof the things you know and master.

Research your talents, your passions and your weaknesses. Take this course, sign up for this seminar, read another book, learn a new hobby! You will meet new people, come up with new ideas, discover new talent, and the neurons in your head will begin find lights where there were only shadows before.

Now a new idea begins to form in your heart: a dream, a project, a business or a mountain to climb. You know you want to, you know you can … but fear re-emerges. This is the moment of truth.

You want to take the step, but something is stopping you.

3. Panic Zone – Doubt, Self Esteem, and Control

Legendary F1 driver Ayrton Senna once said, “If you feel like you are in perfect control of your car, you’re driving too slowly”. In the words of Will Smith, “All you want is on the other side of fear.”

We are not afraid of monsters or pain; We are not afraid of poverty or error: we are actually afraid of the unknown. But if we take the step and start into the forest, we can see its difficulties and opportunities more clearly. It may be terrible, but it is no longer the unknown.

The fear is as long … or as short as you allow it to be. You can go two hundred nights without sleeping or eating, wondering if it’s time to jump. It’s two hundred wasted nights. Anything worth doing is worth doing soon. What’s the worst that can happen? Whether you are successful or not, you will have grown and learned.

4. Development Zone – Build something new

I am not advocating recklessness or recklessness. I repeat, don’t burn your ships over an idea or an event. Simple: tTake the right steps to make things happen. This is known as “proactivity” and is the difference between letting something happen to you and what happens to you.

This takes time and is a learning and growth process. A mountain is not climbed in one step; But without the first step we will never climb the mountain. Grow, walk, listen, adjust, burn your lashes, study, design and try new ideas that will bring you closer to your desired location.

The world is not getting smaller: you are getting bigger. You develop mental muscles and tools; that means: you create experience. You are no longer the person you were before. For that alone the trip was worth it.

Sometimes you don’t get what you wanted. Getting up early: This is called “resilience” and it is the difference between those who try and those who succeed. Nobody has learned to walk without falling, and mistakes are really part of the process. That’s right: failure is good. Do it a lot, do it fast. And it continues to grow: learn and develop. And try again.

5. Zone of dreams comes true – you did it. You grew up You improved yourself.

Welcome to the other side of the forest. You are stronger than you thought and now you have better weapons. This little moment is called: happiness. Now that you know you can make your dreams and goals come true. Nothing will ever be the same again.

Enjoy the moment – you deserve it. Get some rest when you need it. Rearrange your head, your emotions and your hierarchy of values. Don’t let it get into your head: take care of yourself and help others. Elevate others before taking the next step.

Take this platform that you created and think about what’s next: your goal and the things that make the world worthwhile.
However, those victories are not the ultimate goal: they are part of the journey. And if you don’t start moving soon, they will become new comfort zones for you to escape from. So stay young and never stop growing.

6. And back to the start

Let’s start where you are today. In your place, your work, your current environment. It wasn’t easy to get there, but there you are. And in the midst of a global crisis, stick to what you know, what you know, and play it safe. You have turned off the “dream” button. But it’s time to turn it on again …
