Grupo Lunfardo, consisting of four restaurants, launched the campaign to provide health care workers with food and help people who saved lives during the COVID-19 pandemic Food for heroes. The goal is to provide 10,000 meals to doctors, nurses, and hospital workers in Mexico City during National Sana Distancia Day from March 23 to May 31.

“We are proud to offer life-saving people a rich and nutritious meal and even a delicious dessert. It was an incredible experience as people joined this campaign without any great effort. Mexicans always reach in vulnerable situations, “says the group.

Hero’s dinner started when Avierto, Mad Dona, Sonia Restaurant and Paradise grill They decided to send their work team home without payment or to do something to keep the restaurants and productivity chain running. The team came up with the idea of ​​creating a campaign in which 50 donations per 100 pesos would be used to provide a packed lunch to keep health workers entertained and the other half would be used to provide salaries for more than 70 group employees. and it’s a beneficial situation for everyone.

“We make delicious food, comforting and with the right cleaning and hygiene protocols. With this initiative we want to keep the jobs of all our colleagues who work in the restaurant group. We are convinced that the way to help each other is to create a chain of cooperation, generosity and love, ”they affirm.

Thanks to the trust and generosity of more than 300 donors, they have successfully mastered the first challenge: to help heroes who work tirelessly in urban hospitals from April 6th to 22nd with 3,000 meals. At that time, companies such as the transport company Jetty, which helped to speed up the delivery of food, or the Grupo Modelo provided 3,000 bottles of drinking water, as well as people who had learned about the campaign and, among other things, helped them deliver and distribute the campaign.

“The second goal of preparing and distributing another 3,000 meals between April 23 and May 7 was also a complete success. We are now in the third phase, where we will collect 4,000 foods from May 8th to 31st, and we are sure that we will do so to reach 10,000 in total, “they explain.

The money collected is invested directly in the purchase of raw materials (supporting suppliers) for the preparation of the meals they donate, the purchase of chemicals and disposables to comply with the health and hygiene protocols for the preparation and delivery of food. as well as paying the payslips of the compañeras and compañeros who work in the restaurants.
