LONDON, Oct. 23 (EUROPE PRESS) –
British security forces have located 39 bodies inside a truck in a business area in Essex, England, and have arrested the driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old Norwegian, for his alleged responsibility for the deaths.
Emergency services responded to an early warning and, when the truck opened, located the bodies. Investigators suspect the vehicle came from Bulgaria and entered the United Kingdom last Saturday through the Welsh port of Holyhead.
“We are in the process of identifying the victims, but we believe it will be a long process,” said Essex Police Chief Andrew Mariner, reporting this “tragic incident,” according to the Sky News network. The driver “remains in police custody while investigations continue.”
