1,950 possible cases of coronavirus isolated in Maracaibo, Venezuela

The Venezuelan authorities have reported that a total of 1,950 possible coronavirus infections are preventively isolated in Maracaibo.

City Mayor Willy Casanova said these people are waiting for the PCR test result to be confirmed.

Casanova emphasized that around 2,500 tests are carried out daily to identify cases and isolate them immediately. There are already 619 positive cases in the city this week.

Next week, screening work will be enhanced thanks to the collaboration of 120 young people who volunteered to participate in work to protect the population and break the virus transmission chain, said Casanova.

Venezuela has confirmed 8,803 cases and 83 coronavirus deaths since the pandemic began. In addition, 2,671 patients were recovered. The case diagram and the diagram for the deceased are on an upward path.
