At least 17 people, including a child, were injured in a bomb attack in a majority Shiite neighborhood in the Pakistani city of Parachinar in the north of Thursday this Thursday. Authorities and health sources have confirmed this.
Local police chief Nayab Ali said the bomb was dropped in a vegetable truck in the Turi Bazar area. “This area is usually occupied by greengrocers,” he said, the Pakistani newspaper Dawn reports.
Parachinar is the capital of the Kurram district in Jíber Pajtunjua and has been the scene of numerous attacks by extremist Sunni groups against members of the Shiite community living in the city in recent years.
