16 dead in new fighting between belligerent factions of a militia in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo

At least 16 people were killed on Friday in new clashes between belligerent factions of the Congo-Rénové’s Nduma Defense (NDC-R) militia in South Kivu Province in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), as confirmed this Sunday Army.

The clashes that broke out in the city of Kaseke were led by the factions led by Guidon Shirayi Muissa and Gilbert Bwira and twelve seriously wounded.

According to the Congolese radio broadcaster Radio Okapi, the faction led by Bwira attacked the city of Kaseke, in which Guidon’s group held advanced positions, and triggered some fights involving the use of heavy weapons.
