May 12, 2020

The deaths of two more people have increased the number of people killed by the fire on Tuesday at an illegal palliative center in the Russian city of Krasnogorsk, Moscow region, according to local authorities.

A spokesman for the Sputnik agency confirmed the deaths of two of the patients on Tuesday, while a third person remains intubated after the event survived. Investigators suspect that the flames were caused by a power cut.

The investigative committee has opened a criminal file in this case because the property in question acts as a palliative hospital despite its registration as a home. The person responsible for this private center has already been arrested.
