100% of the polling stations installed in the Venezuelan state of Barinas

The National Electoral Council of Venezuela (CNE) has announced that 100 percent of the polling stations for the regional elections in the state of Barinas have already been set up after the elections were suspended on November 21.

The Venezuelan Supreme Court ordered a repeat of the elections in Barinas on November 21, after the opposition candidate Freddy Superlano was disqualified, who was just ahead of Chavismo in the initial predictions.

A total of 961 tables are installed in twelve municipalities that already have operational staff, table members and the auditors of the various political forces involved, reported the CNE’s regional director, Dennysis Pérez, and the Venezuelan information portal Últimas Noticias collects.

In addition, the technological equipment installed in 543 voting centers was checked for a total of 607,646 citizens entitled to vote.

“We had a minimal change of only 0.04% of the voting machines. The schedule was kept normally. We felt the joy of the supporters of the five candidates participating in this election,” he said.

The elections for governor of Barinas, the birthplace of Hugo Chávez, also include a security deployment of 25,135 members of the civil-military police union.

“We have already booked the 543 centers. We have used a device at the civil security authorities to ensure internal order these days, so that the election process takes place in Barinas. We have also set up 20 telephone lines for each complaint, ”he said the commander of the Los Llanos Comprehensive Defense Region, Major General Santiago Infante Itriago.
